I have a 32 gallon Husky upright air compressor I bought from Home Depot as a refurb.

Connecting the pump exhaust to the tank is a copper tube that originally had a metal ferrul that sealed the exhaust tube at the pump. That ferrul has been replaced with some red caulk type material which is now leaking.

Other than the obvious answer of ordering the correct ferrul, what could I use to seal this connection?

RTV is probably what it is. Maybe you coud put more? not too sure

Or you could redo the fitting with a flare or compression fitting. Might be easier than finding that ferrul

I had a similar issue on my Lowe's/Kobalt compressor. (See my garage thread link below, page 2 or so.)

That compression ferrule is likely a cheap part sold in the plumbing dept at Lowe's/HeHoDepo.
