I have a Quincy compressor that has been around for a long time.
I am replacing the motor that went bad because the compressor still does a good job.
Since the motor is bad…..and, I am old, I don’t remember the rotation.
Don’t want to get it wrong and cause damage.
Anyone have any advice.

That compressor, as you're facing the pulley side rotates counter-clockwise. I have a similar Quincy 216.

The spokes of the pulley also act as a fan and going counter-clockwise pushes air across the compressor body, so that's a clue if there's no directional arrow cast into it.

as mentioned, either an arrow on the flywheel indicating direction, or by looking at the spokes of the flywheel and how they are shaped... you want them to grab air & push it towards the pump. in your case counterclockwise when facing the flywheel
