Hello ladies and gents. Finally found a compressor on craigslist. I got this for $275. It's never been run, only moved to a few different houses (explains the scratches). We drained the oil to transport it, so I filled it up with 30wt non-detergent and ran it for about 15-20 minutes with no fittings. Then made up the cheap hose you see in the picture so that it would pump up and pressurize. I don't really care for where the air outlet is on this compressor though. Any suggestions on how to run the hose to the hose reel? Right now I just have air tool couplings on each end.

First decide where you want the compressor and hose reel to live. From there, you can use brass plumbing bits to get the air out of the compressor, then branch off or make a tee - whatever suits your needs. Put a ball valve first in line so you can close it and save your air for when you are ready to work. A regulator and dryer should follow as needed.

From what I see it looks like you have 2 female couplings on the hose. You don't want that because when you disconnect the hose *** the air is escape the tank.

It's a single stage unit. I would love a two stage, but at this point, the need doesn't really justify the expense. I live in the sticks, so I ended up driving an hour to get this, but it worked out because I had a buddy that needed to pick up his truck in the same town.

The two female connectors were a result of me not thinking when I was at the hardware store and then me wanting to get this thing running when I got home. In other words, it's a temporary cobble job!
I'm making an adapter plate for the compressor so that I can mount a Solberg filter silencer instead of the crappy air intake it has now. That and some rubber under the skid should help to take the noise down a little more.
