Sorry, neither of those are the thread I'm looking for. In that elusive thread was a post that showed where someone had added a warning light to indicate that his compressor is still switched on. The person ran the 110v for the warning light off one leg of the 220v running his compressor.
I know how to do this as I've already got a 110v fan being turned on when my compressor kicks on (to take heat off my franzinator). I was thinking I could use the other 110v leg to illuminate the HITOYC (Hey idiot, turn off your compressor) light. The problem is the power for the light will only be available when the compressor is actually running. I'm not in my workshop much during the week, so it's possible that I could accidentally leave my compressor running for days (which I've done many times now).
I'm curious how that person, using one of the 110v legs, got around this.
My plan B is to install an air pressure switch, something like this,

I figure I can drill and tap into one of the aluminum blocks the air outlets are plumbed to. The switch will close while the air pressure is above 60psi. I'd run a small LED or low amp light through the switch contacts, and position the light where I'll see it as I switch off the shop lights. If the compressor is on, its always above 80psi, so the light will be lit. The light will remain lit until the compressor bleeds down below the threshold pressure of the switch. At the very least, it will be visual indicator for me to make sure the compressor is powered down.
