After enclosing the structure built around my compressor the sound was reduced dramatically. I need to adapt a better intake filter system now. I am thinking about redoing the enclosure with an isolated double wall method of construction as well. I originally installed it in 1984 and at the time did not have neighbors. There are houses on either side now. I am piping air into the enclosure via a bathroom exhaust fan from the garage which is heated and air conditioned. The fan is kicked on along with the compressor by the starter box. I never did figure out how to stop the compressor sound transmission coming from the fan venting and hoping a new intake filter will help tone it down.
When I ran the compressor this week while my neighbor was home, he thought I finally got the hot rod running. Guess I need to make some more improvements.
I am following your install with interest in your results. Good luck!
Neighbor thought your hot rod was running! Thats funny! I'll start enclosing it in next few weeks, too many projects going at same time

I've started enclosing it, still need to hang the steel panels and door. Might insulate inside also11e45eedf45770227da59d1b3234ffb8.jpg1d04c7fd215dd96168509ecb08807924.jpg674ba13943ab10359efede55331e9760.jpg05f6f938c73def0280ed490003dd45a5.jpg467754f18a0c7aba21da4e42ae980c83.jpg

How has your setup been doing for you @Menifee Valley Speed Shop

Very clean looking install. I am also considering a Hayden 1290, What Fan is that your using, it seems to be the perfect size, and appears to have nice metal blades on it.

Any problems with the flexible stainless braided line that you ran from the pump head to the hayden 1290? I know the pump heads can get really really hot.

Your first water trap that exploded appeared to have a built in regulator, my guess is that had something to do with it exploding, from the look of it your new water trap that is before the tank does not have the regulator.

Well it's working pretty well now. Thanks! The fan was from Lowe's, just a fan you would set on ground just took stand off it and made brackets. The stainless hose has held up well, my hose maker said it was good to 300 plus so who knows lol. Yeah, I can't recall that first regulator but no problems with new one.
