So after the past paint jobs I been getting baby fish eyes after my clear coat was flashing an curing. So I started cleaning garage more sealing cracks from unwanted contaminants in the air. So today was checking compressor an noticed oil by air gauge an air lines BAD!! So what's the best bet buy new compressor or buy a devilbiss coalescing filter to add to my devilbiss water trap filter?

You should look into a filter system using water and oil separators in line before a desiccant drier such as the ct30 by devilbiss. I recommend another small micron filter after the drier to catch particles when the desiccant breaks down. Use with a new air hose and only for paint and primer to save on swapping out the desiccant. If your compressor is overworked you might want a new one since the hotter it runs the more moisture gets in the lines I think. Be sure to blow out the pipes and drain the compressor tank daily when used. If you have a larger budget there are refrigeration driers and screw compressors.

Airborne contaminants can also cause the issues you describe. You mentioned sealing cracks and such, but when an exhaust fan is running make up air must be pulled in from somewhere(open window, other room, etc) I would check where the air is coming from for contaminants. Diesel trucks running, aerosols being used, etc.

well I think im gonna buy a oil filter to get the water an oil down to 1 micron im getting about 5 microns from the water filter an I sealed all up around garage door sealed man door tight. now I gota seal up garage door with weather stripping now. I just adjusted the rollers so now its tighter. when fan was on it was pulling air threw man door an around garage door an there was oil/****** fluid outside an I could smell it pulling threw. I get the baby crater fish eyes after I lay the 2nd coat of clear after it starts curing. when I lay it down its perfect an then it starts breaking out

The first link is a good choice for filters. Your paint problem probably is the moisture in the air lines. Try painting when the compressor has set for hours unused to cool and blow out the lines. Another possibility is you have trapped solvents caused by heavy coats or not enough flash time. You can try higher temperature solvent and activator depending on the product. Moisture in the air lines is bad for the paint btw.

I never tried this myself but wondered if pushing air into the homemade spray area through air filters would work better than just an exhaust fan. Fans on both intake and exhaust with slight positive pressure same idea as real paint booths.

Read the precautions on the paint cans and MSDS they are dangerous chemicals as you probably know.

Should I buy the legit filter that does the moisture also? It's weird I always painted this way with 2 box fans an no extra air intake an paint jobs came out perfect just the past few jobs been getting baby creator fisheyes! I'm getting pissed off an every job I done this way was the same clear I been using maybe bad batch of clear? I'm doin a experiment with tail lights one face up one side ways an no fans see how it comes out. Funny part when I got nice clear jobs I wasn't even using a water trap just filter b4 gun it's weird.

An flash time was like 20 mins a piece I let it sit long as possible to make sure an the fan I'm using now is a legit fan an pulls everything from unwanted spaces got most of everything sealed up.
