Compressor VS Welder wiring

I use the same 220 plug/receptacle for my compressor as I do my MIG welder. I just unplug the compressor and plug in the welder when I need to use the welder. I turn on the power at the breaker box.

Is there a way to hard wire the compressor into a fused box and continue the wiring to a plug for the welder?

I only run my compressor when I need it so if I needed to plug in the welder I would not turn on the compressor.

I know this sounds like a code violation so tell me if it is dangerous in the way I intend to use it.

Thanks, Joe

What model mig? Any of them 210 or under run fine from a 30A circuit (180 class even run from a 20), unplug the comp, plug the machine in and go. No need to get fancy here and add fuses, its already breakered.

why not add a second plug on the same circuit.
if you would use both at the same time and exceeded the amp load of the wire the breaker would blow thats why its there.
if you hard wire the compressor you will need a disconnect also.
