Skip to the end for the short TLDR version.
Early this year pre pandemic I put together my ideal compressor using an old R15 pump with a Baldor 5hp motor on a little 30 gallon tank. Its been fantastic up until about a week ago. And now it wont start.
Found that the breaker was tripped. When flipping it on the compressor makes a struggling sound & then the breaker trips again. I made sure nothing was bound & can still turn the pulley's by hand without a problem.
I am using a Condor magnetic starter/pressure switch combo which I was warned not to use so I figured this was the problem. Bypassed it & no change in behavior when flipping the breaker on.
Pulled out my multimeter & am getting correct power all the way back to the compressor. Pulling the cover's off I found a loose wire in the capacitor cover. There is a place to connect it on each of the 3 capacitors in there & I am unable to find a wiring diagram with simple pictures that I can understand (most aren't in English)
The motor is the Baldor L1410T (or more specifically the edge version from here).
TLDR: Where does the loose wire from the pictures go?
