What is this compressor worth? Compressor needs a rebuild and motor is 3 phase. I don’t have 3 phase. I would like to buy a compressor and 220V elec. motor for this tank.

I'm not a big IR fan...NOT saying they're not a good pump, just not a fan. If you're mechanically minded, rebuilding a pump is pretty straight forward. If it wasn't run out of oil, it most likely just needs a valve overhaul. I would venture to say it's probably a 5-7.5 hp unit, which are easy to find in 220V single phase.

Why start off shooting yourself in the foot? Buy something that works and runs on the power you have available. Go thru all that just to put it on an old tank. If someone gimme the thing I would take a look but I am not buying it and this comes from someone with the ability to do this.

Crewguy , around here we need info to help, we do not have crystal balls or the mind machine from the Forbidden Planet, we generally do not torture poster for info extraction. In the future please supply more info like all the data off the compressor ,tank, and motor name plates.

Not into IR fan either, but the old T30s are quality. Issue with the pictured is you have no idea what would be required for a rebuild, compressor parts are not cheap. I suspect the unit is newer than it looks. At the minimum, the compressor would need to be disassembled, new gaskets, likely bearings at a minimum. At a minimum, you have a couple full days work if it requires a bare basic rebuild. If you get this for free or close to it, it may be worth it, especially if you like restoration projects.

Then again Sberry may be offering hard earned wisdom.

Some folks enjoy tackling a project. I am guilty of repairing things that could have been replaced with something new cheaper. Character flaw for me. Been that way since I was a youngster. Just like fixing things.

Everyone is different.

Id say a tough call. a motor alone will be in the $300 to $500 range .
don't know what condition the tank is in, what is needed to repair it. it could be a simple repair, or a total fail on the pump.
does the pump turn over by hand?
looks to me that it's been exposed to weather for some time.
offer scrap value plus a bit and see what happens

Get the numbers off the compressor and get the rebuild kit from IR, then get a 1ø 230 motor to replace the 3ø. The only thing that would sour me to the deal is if the rebuild kit is unobtanium. Check the inside of the tank with a scope (rent at workstuff-R-us rentals) once you take the fittings off (for rust), and why not. You can get new for $1K or less, so I would probably offer $100 knowing its a project.
