Hi everyone I just discovered in my rented house that I have a dedicated 240v wire with a 20-amp 2-pole breaker at the main panel. When I moved in I thought it was dead since the line was cut but I am reading 244v with Klein MM100 in the garage which is 50 feet from the main panel. It was wired for an unused 25-amp sprinkler timer and I would like to use it for a compressor.
By the looks and there is no stamped writing, I am guessing 12-3 because it's definitely bigger than 1/16", but less than 1/8". I also read that a #12 can carry 9.3-amps for 50' using this guide so I am making a deduction.

The wire coming from the main panel has a black/white/ground and the blue/red are part of the timer. The bare copper of the black wire can be seen in front of the blue wire on the right.
So I ask the GJ community, what's the biggest and strongest compressor you think will run safely and I only will use maybe once or twice a week for 15-30 minutes. BTW, the landlord won't let me do any additional wiring even with an electrician? Thanks
Here's is couple of pics.
