Been using a laptop on top of my tool box. I am going to build a bench with two snap-on Classic 78's built in. Any body got any good ideas for storing a laptop and a scanner printer? Pictures? I was thinking some kind of pull out for the scanner/ printer, but not sure about the laptop. Sho your setups.
Thanks in advance.

I have one of these mounted to my workbench: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MH9F5HK/?tag=atomicindus08-20
I'll see if I can put up some pictures. I have it setup with dual monitors, but it came with a laptop holder so you can also have a monitor on one arm and a laptop on the other.

For a multifunction scanner/printer I would try putting it on something like this: http://www.shelvesthatslide.com/sliding_shelves.htm

do you really need a scanner printer? If you can get by with just a basic cheap printer I would go that way. It's going to get dirty even behind doors. In my life nothing clean would happen in the shop that would be scanning images of. Do you need a printer in the shop on the floor? Is there another location (office off the shop, in the house...etc) that could be printed to via network instead?

There's no pressing need for a fanless computer - can tell you from experience. I've serviced many computers in grungy environments. You should open the case and blow it out at least annually, but otherwise don't sweat the case fan unless 90% of your work generates metallic dust. the printer on the other hand seems more susceptible to shop dust for print quality.

That's the way I have it now, I print to a printer in the house. Not that far 250', but I am remodeling my shop and thought it would be nice to have a printer in the shop. I print a lot of wiring diagrams etc.
Thanks.
