I've been reading some threads on GJ about concrete slabs. Some folks say if you order 3,000 psi it will end up being 2,800 psi due to adding water at the job site.
So that brings me to my question:
Is there any disadvantage to using higher strength concrete, let's say 4,000 psi vs 3,000 psi, other than initial cost?
Is higher strength concrete more prone to having issues such as through cracking or surface cracking or some other type issue?
I'll be having a slab poured in the spring and I have specified 5" of 3,000 psi. If tossing out a bit more money for an upgrade is a good idea, I'm all in.
