A burnisher is normally used as a final step in concrete polishing process, we use the burnishers to burnish in the final stain guard coating. Normally not used in garages since polished concrete is not an ideal solution for garage floors.

Why is polished not ideal for garages? Too slick? Or stain resistance?

Polish concrete is not stain resistant since it’s not a topical protective coating and is not recommended in garages or auto type facilities.

Two reasons. First and foremost is that polished concrete is not stain proof. It cleans up well, but if any solvent or petroleum product has a chance to sit for any length of time it will permanently stain - you will never get it out. Polished concrete can't be coated with an epoxy coating or similar to protect it. It's too smooth.

Second, if you live in an area with winter snow, road salts and deicing fluids take the gloss out real quick.
