Concrete Covering

I have a concrete pad outdoors that has a lift. The pad has a roof over it and it keeps off 95% of the rain. I painted the concrete with 4 coats of U-Coat-It expoxy paint but the sun has faded it and it has turned chalky after less than 2 years. I would like to cover the concrete with a durable coating that makes oil spills easy to clean yet maintains a glossy durable appearance that will stand up to the sun. Any suggestions? TIA

No problem... Do you want to do it yourself or do you want a contractor?

What you want to do is to use a pigmented aliphatic polymer like a urethane. If anyone suggests to you to put a clear urethane on it don't fall for that. As long as sunlight can get through to the epoxy it is going to chalk and yellow. The problem with a clear urethane is that when the epoxy chalks the urethane will disbond. SO, what you want to do is to recoat with a pigmented urethane that will completely hide the epoxy. Then, if you want to also add a coat of clear over the pigmented urethane then that would be fine. The main point is to ensure that the epoxy is completely protected from the sunlight.

We have a bunch of customers in your city if you want a professional to come in and handle it.

Google , "seamless flooring nc", "epoxy flooring nc", "resinous floors nc". Get a few estimates, get references, see a finished job and never choose the cheapest.
