I remember seeing a product to insert into a concrete floor instead of saw cuts, if I recall correctly it was for use under flooring (tile, hardwood, etc. ).
I remember seeing them on here a few years ago, but I can't remember what they were called.
They look kind of like an upside down T with the shank of the T serving as the control break, but as it's an insert instead of a cut, you don't have to fill it later.
They were installed while the floor was still pliable (not fully set) so the shank of the upside down T was flush, or just below the surface.
I've searched here and online, but I'm not coming up with anything useful (any combination of "insert" and "concrete" I've tried returns either cast in anchors, or something unrelated
