I will respectfully disagree with those that say "its not that bad". That is a hack job and if were mine, it would already be ripped out and replaced. You could probably cover it up but there is no fixing it.

No doubt it's a hack job but by the way I'm reading this post the OP will be footing the bill, again. I'd leave it and move on to other "disasters" that'll be coming down the road.

I think that it's undeniably sub-par work. Unfortunately, no one can tell you with any certainty how long that will last before you have issues. My Dad poured a patio for a customer 40+ years ago and had the top washed off in a huge down pour, took a power trowel to the patio, broomed it, and it still looks pretty good to this day. I've had jobs that snapped off from the heat and I tore them out 2 years later because they spalled in the winter. No one knows how long they will last.

One concern that no one brought up yet: Is the stoop with the extra step sitting on a foundation? If so, the sidewalk should have been separated with some form of expansion material. And the connecting sidewalk certainly should have had at least one more control joint, it's far too long and is most likely to crack..........

I tend to think that a lot of time people give recommendations about services that they don't know themselves if they got quality work or not. Usually if it is cheap people think they got a good deal.

They look like they'll hold up and they achieve the goal of getting you into your home. A higher quality replacement is more than you were willing to pay for so... Live with it. Once the new wears off, they won't look that bad.

Does the concrete run right up to the house and the siding is trimmed over top of it? I would have flashed and not have the siding right against the concrete. I'm sure the prep work under those stairs is just as bad as the finish work and when winter comes and those stairs move a bit your siding is going to look like ****.
