Concrete Driveway Has A Low Spot. Solutions?

I recently had a new garage built and also some concrete poured to extend the driveway to the garage. The concrete work was done beautifully with a nice pitch for drainage except for one small area. On a section in front of the main garage door there is a low spot of about 12 inches by 18 inches where water pools to around 1/8th of an inch in the center and a 1/16th on the edges. I had the contractor out yesterday and he gave me two options. #1 Cut a gradually deepening line from the center of the low spot to the nearest expansion joint (around eight inches away) so the water will flow out. #2 is to use a product called Mapei Planitop X http://www.brockwhite.com/0p46i615/mapei-planitop-x/ which is a polymer mortar/concrete repair product. He claims they can feather this in to raise the concrete profile. He says there will be a slight color difference that will gradually fade. Any thoughts? Thanks.

If the groove is only 8" long, I'd groove it.

Grove it! Cut the line so it doesn't look odd meaning go all of the way across the pad, etc.
