I have a trench drain and the frame is just a bit lower where the concrete meets the edge , there are small chips along that edge. I would like to either fix the chipped edges or grind them out . Which way will work best ?

I will be installing vct and those chipped edges will cause issues down the road.

Depending on how big the gap is between the top of the drain and the frame you have a couple of options:

1. Using a hand grinder and cup-wheel, round off the nose along the edge of the drain where the chips are creating a bull-nose finish - it would obviously look better to do it the entire way along. Note that you are likely to expose some of the aggregate in the concrete.
2. If you would prefer to have a square edge then I would advise prepping the edge by grinding anything loose away, forming up the edge using timber, and filling the chipped areas with a resin/silica/fine sand mix. It depends what sort of finish you are after.

How were you thinking of finishing your VCT to the edge of the drain down the track?
Also, as mentioned above, some pictures would go a long way in describing your issue.
