Concrete etch in steel building

Ive got a newly built 60x40 steel building.I am considering epoxy painting the floor.My concern is the etching for the concrete damaging the paint on the steel building during the application of the etch.Thoughts?Thanks

Unless you have something special the steel has a prime coat only. I'm not sure what would be damaged.

I acid etched with no adverse affect on my steel building. If your really concerned you could use a grinder.

I had to etch twice as it was power troweled smooth.

Hi,
To our knowledge none of our clients has ever had an issue with etch affecting their steel building, and we have sold tens of thousand of systems over the years.

Also the etch gets diluted so it's not used full strength.

I am glad you mentioned power troweling! I am currently building a 30x50 shop and am wanting to do a polyurea floor. You mentioned you had to etch twice since it was power troweled smooth. What recommendations does anyone have for me as far as finishing the concrete floor for a polyurea floor? Does it need power troweled once, twice or non at all? I just need advice on how the contractors should finish out the floor.
