Hello,
I am in the middle of a garage floor tear out and repour. The previous floor had 1 to 2 inch gaps and really badely torn up.
I hired a contractor to replace garage floor and aspault driveway. The original price to remove and replace 20x21 garage was $3000.
As it turns out the garage was poured about 6 inches thick right onto the dirt, so there is no subbase. Also there ended up being a 25x20 cement slab under the asphault in front of the driveway that was 6-8 inches thick.
Because of the added work of remove and disposal of all that concrete and the addition of digging out and adding 5 inches of compacted stone he wants $4500 more!
Does this seem crazy? I am ready to tell him to take a hike! How much does it cost to dispose of concrete, thats where he said the extra cost came in.
