I have a slab that's appx 24x36 being poured. I am choosing to get a pro to do the pour/finish work. I am gonna pay for the material.

What's reasonable rate for the labor? The site is ready to go except for placing some rebar/mesh, expansion joints, etc.

Thanks!

Not sure where you are located, but I just paid $3.25 sqft for a 32x52, 4" floor with wire mesh, and they scored it with a concrete saw after it was poured. That is labor and materials. And their work was far superior to any other concrete work I've ever had done.

for a 60x80 slab I got labor only quotes ranging from .55 to 1.00 per square foot. That's with it ready to go, they just pour and finish. The 1.00 rate also included sawcuts and sealing. Get on the services section of craigslist, find a few concrete guys and ask for quotes then see if you can come watch them do a floor. If they say no go on to the next guy.

I paid my finishers $250 cash each, they were there all morning. I saw cut it, had it formed and ready to go.

Thanks for all the info. My local concrete guy (who is known and recommended by everyone) charges $1.25/sqft.

I pay the materials, he brings the crew, the machines, does the pour, the finish, the stress-cuts, etc.

Sounds like a little to the high side of average, but in the ball park!?
