Concrete floor sealing options

Before I start putting cars in my new garage I'd like to put something down to seal the concrete. Mostly to protect it from oil/grease stains and salt in the winter.

I do not have a vapor barrier under, so from my understanding epoxy or non breathable coatings are pretty much a bad idea. I also lack the patience to do the epoxy properly.

I talked to Scotty at Legacy about some of their products, but just want to get a couple ideas before I commit.

For what it's worth, it's new clean fiber reinforced concrete. Still has little fibers poking up here and there.

Color doesn't matter, infact I'd almost rather it be just natural color/clear.

It sounds like you are on the right track. I would consider a two stage process where you use a product like TL37 followed by TL40 or Siloxa-Tek 8505. Right now TL40 is on backorder.

The Siloxa-Tek 8505 came to my attention via another forum member, and I do not have the track record with it I do with the TL40. What got my attention with it is although it is more expensive and requires two coats, it has a 100 year warranty and additional active ingredients that make it (in theory) more effective as a sealer against oil, etc than some of our other products. I would be happy to give you 20% off on the Siloxa-Tek as we need to get some good feedback. You would still need to do the TL37 as well.

Am I figuring out my coverages correctly, or is the TL40 a significantly cheaper option than the Siloxa-Tek?

My garage is 768 sq ft, so a 5 gallon bucket of TL37, and 7 gallons of the Siloxa-Tek for 2 coats?

Murphys law is always in full force with me, so I'm kinda leaning towards tried and true. LOL

Definitely a huge price difference. You could get buy with 3-4 gallons of the TL37 but the price break on the 5 would make it worth it just to be sure. If you have any left you can always use it on a back patio, etc.
