Hey Guys, i have a question for a pro on concrete footers, Just had a pole barn built and when i was watching ( and i did question them) the poles are not only not centered in the building, but the hand shoveled the holes to a elongate them because the poles didnt fit in the holes they dug with the auger. so now the poles are sitting on edge of the concrete cookie, if not slighly off edge.

They say this is fine, i have to think its not. any type of code, especially in MN about this?

Thanks Guys

I would think that as long as the footing is deep and thick enough and the post is completely bearing on the footing it is ok. Not best, but ok. I would make a point of pulling some string lines to see that everything actually lines up. Life is good if you are plumb, level and square coming out of the ground. Not so without it!

Not cool - how deep are the footings? How much rebar? Do you get frost?
Pics?

FWIW - ]this is called a deficiency and the company usually ponies up to make it right....
