Is there any good or recommended sealer that will work on painted concrete lawn ornaments ? I figured the flooring experts would know.

I tried epoxy coating a few of my dads over the years with mixed results. Held water and blew out with freezing, if you dipped them it could work but not cost effective. My next try will be multiple coats of DTM paint. A raw concrete statue would do well with siloxane if left natural.

I think the hardest part would be getting them dry first, like the above poster mentioned.

Fun dangerous trick: take a stone out of a river and put it in a campfire, stand well back - sizzle, bang!

If it was a freshly molded piece you'd want to wait for it to fully cure - weeks to months at ambient temperatures before sealing. If it's been outside for ages you'd likely want to bake it next to a heater for a very long time.

The importance/success of all of the above also depends on the form of the statue. Smaller pieces will dry faster, larger pieces without small features shouldn't blow out.

If this is in Arizona, none of this matters :)

Does anything really dry in Portland?

Oregonians don't tan, they rust.

Anyone who thinks Oreogonians rust clearly hasn't been to the east coast. It's a rust-free wonderland up here.

Oregonians don't rust, they develop a lovely moss covering :)
