I know this isn't flooring per say but thought it would be best to post here where I have seen a bunch of concrete posts.
I have a pad that is going to be poured in front of my garage that has a sewer clean out in the area to be poured. I was thinking of using a J R Smith Co cover box (4264L04) with a 4 inch clean cap. The issue is that I priced one of these at the local supply house and using a "buddy's" account this clean out and housing cost just under $300. OUCH!
Do you have any suggestions or other options that will give similar results.
I like the idea that the above part number isolates the box from the sewer line as far as movement is concerned.
My other option is to just leave the existing clean out and concrete right to the pipe after getting the pipe to the correct level with where the concrete is going to be by cutting out a 2-3 inch section and reconnecting the two with a fernco fitting. The clean out that is there now is cast iron and the pipe that comes out of the ground is 4". The pipe widens at the top and there is a rubber seal/bushing that holds the threaded portion of the clean out in.
