Concrete Patch Questions

I’ve been reading on various posts about concrete patching and prep before epoxy coating. It seems as though most are using some type of an epoxy patch for repair of cracks and minor surface damages. What products is everyone using for their repairs? I went to Home Depot and Lowe’s and could not find any type of epoxy for concrete repair. All I found was some DAP Ready-Mixed Concrete Patch, but I think the product will take some amount of cure time and will not be nearly as strong (I could be wrong though). I want to repair some small “divots” in the floor surface and some of the imperfections/damages to the footings on the two side walls of the garage. On these footings the patches would be both horizontal and vertical.

Rust-Oleum has a Concrete Patch & Repair kit that sounded like what I needed. It is strong and cures fast. I would like to try and start the floor covering this weekend (depending of weather), but cannot find this product locally in St. Louis. I’m not sure if this is the right product or if there would be a different or better option.

If this is the best product I guess I could spring for the extra shipping costs or if someone in the STL knows where I could get it locally that would be great. I guess I am basically looking for opinions and options.

I'm patching divots right now also. I'm using rustoleums concrete patch & repair kit. I'm happy with it- easy to work with and appears very strong.

I found it at Menards. Lowes & Home Depot did not carry it.

When I talked with Rustoleum customer service, they said NOT to use the one shown in photo in the above post as it is not epoxy or mortar based. Of course this was after I had spent a whole day using it and thought I would ask them a question about their product application.

I bought my Rust Oleum Concrete Patch Kit at Menards. Doing a retailer search on the RO website gave these results:

If it's just divets, make sure you grind them out. Then prime it, finally you can use a general bondo. If your gonna patch on the walls, you can do the same. A suggestion though, use gripper( a primer from glidden and available at any home depot) as your primer for your walls. Then epoxy it. You'll save some money on your epoxy. I've been using gripper on walls for years with great success. Remember, only walls though. DO NOT USE BONDO IN CRACKS! Make sure that if your gonna patch cracks, first chase it open with a v groove crack chaser and patch with a flexible epoxy. Good luck!

I am interested to know what you refer to flexible epoxy?

Do you have any brand names for examples?

I need to coat my in-law's garage floor next spring and they have quite a bit of cracks and please give more details on the flexible epoxy.

Also, what if I patch the cracks with epoxy thats harden once is cured?

Thanks

Remember that if there are cracks, that means there is movement. Being from either settling and or expansion and contraction. Concrete in the north east needs to be prepped with way more caution that lets say concrete from Arizona or Southern Cali.

I cannot give you any "brand" names because I use industrial products that only sell to companies and in quantity. The patching material I use has flexible properties once cured. It's the proper way to patch. Depending on the severity, sometimes more than on patch coat is nessessary.
