concrete prep for Epoxy Costs

My concrete on my floor is clean - when it was poured last year it was finished with one of those concrete buffer-finishers with blades (look like fan blades)
I used the acid prep from the Epoxy Coat kit, but my floor is still pretty amooth (not glossy)
Has anyone else sucessfully put Epoxy Coat on concrete finished like this wiith only acid etching?

If you want to be sure use Muratic Acid. Real Muratic Acid. Make sure to neutral the area with baking soda. After using water you will need to wait for the area to dry out. The longer you give the floor for it to dry the less likely you are to have bubbles. As many on this forum has said install a primer below the epoxy.

I was thinking about this - it took a long time for my floor to dry with water standing on it - I am going to search on primers here and see - I hate to go to the trouble to put the epoxy down and have it not stick well.

And - "costs" should be "coat" in the subject - sometimes my phone thinks it knows better than me what I want to write.

I am still not sure - my floor looks a little better today after it dried overnight -
I sprinkle drops of water on there and they don't bead up, but don't go away that quickly - I am just not sure how much they need to absorb.

The concrete may have gotten saturated when I power washed it after the acid prep. I am goin to let it fry today and do the sprinkle test again.
The thing that keeps bugging me is I didn't see a lot of bubbles when I was scrubbing in the acid treatment.

FYI -
talked to Epoxy Coat - they advised me that floor needs to feel like 120 grit sandpaper -
I ain't there yet - getting some muriatic acid today.

Make sure you do a simple moisture test. You need a 24" x 24" platic sheet with no holes. Duct tape it to the floor in the wettest spot you think you have. If you can tape down several platic spots in different areas. Make sure to tape each edge down well. Let it sit for two days then pull them up. If you see any signs of moisture on the floor, back side of tape or on the plastic then guess what it is still wet. Many factors can cause a floor to be wet for a while longer than another floor. Vapor barrier, down spouts turned toward foundation, slope or grade of yard, etc.

If you want to take a chance on no primer then good luck but make sure no water is present.
