Concrete price question

I know concrete prices vary like CRAZY, so excuse me for asking this... but I just need some ballpark ideas as I'm still waiting for visits on quotes.

I'm looking to have two 14' frost walls poured. 14' on each side. They have to go in a slab so it would have to be broken up and removed where the wall goes. 4' frost walls with a beefy enough footer where they can bear some serious weight. The walls would need to be brought back up to ground level, preferably in reinforced concrete. There's two on each side of the building with a 10' gap in the middle.

It's also inside a building with 7' ceilings, so a skid loader is the biggest implement that will fit inside. Outside door 10' away so not far to move concrete.

Any thoughts on an approximate price?

If you are looking for a number to keep your bidders honest with, the only way is a really good estimate or another well defined bid. If your numbers are all over the place, you haven't defined the scope of the work and specifications narrowly enough. The above description isn't detailed enough to do an estimate. Ballparks aren't of much use, because by definition they aren't accurate. Be patient and go through the bidding process. Adjust each bid so they are apples to apples to get the best prices. Choose the best contractor based on quality and then negotiate price.

X2. It sounds like your project involves a lot more than a few yards of concrete. Expect prices to be all over the place.

Concrete is cheap right now, at least here. It was over 1000 a truck in the not too distant past. Concrete truck guy told me last week 600 a truck (10 yards). So there ya go.

Your gonna have two prices for two concretes. Footer concrete will run higher than your concrete for the walls. IIRC footer concrete was around $140/yd. vs. $95/yd. but that was a few years back. Don't ask me why, but the price was always different around here between the two. The last I heard, your regular concrete for walls, drives, etc. was running about $110/yd.

Cheap? It is at record high prices around here. $90 per yard.

Just over $100/yrad here in KC. And that's assumeing you don't get charged for a short load, don't want any water reducer etc.

from what i can find thats cheap. 220 a metre around here. i guess thats about 200 a yard ;(

Last year, what I bought was $130 a yard here, buying 6-1/2 yards.

Here, 2500 psi fiber concrete, $110 cubic yard.

Paid $125 per yard last week when pouring footing. Went up $25 yard in the last month.

In my area; with taxes, delivery, etc you are looking at $200 per yard.
