I am planning on coating and entranceway and boiler room with some kind of epoxy treatment, haven't settled on which application yet. There aren't any oil staining problems but there is paint residue along the walls. I see most of the instructions require pretreatment of the surface by etching or "grinding" the surface. The grinder seems to be the preferred method. How serious a grind is required? Not taking off the "cream" I hope. This will create a bunch of dust so I found a guard/dust collector for my 4" peanut grinder. I will need to float/repair a couple of cracks in this process. Is it preferred to do the pretreatment prior to fixing the cracks? Thanks
