If you are placing poles or posts in the ground, how effective is it to put the quickcrete dry into the hole vs mixing it up first. Have been told it is good to put it in dry and add water before backfill and not to worry about mixing it up first. thanks

This works really well for sandy soils on things as simple as fence posts. Built many fences this way. Build your fence 'dry' and come back and fill in with concrete later wet or dry.

Thunked so. Saw a video on Youtube of these fellas building a pole barn, it was time lapse and it showed auger drilling holes then about 3 bags set next to each hole, then the poles went in, bunch of dust then aligning the posts. Too fast to really tell if they poured water in or not,. Thanks for your reply.
