Concrete Repair Before Tile Job

Ok, so the garage remodel has been progressing well thus far, I was going to try to fly solo the whole job, but I really dont want to butcher my future tile job with bad slab prep. The garage is essentially a two car garage with one slab behind the first, and the rear slab is elevated just under a foot (dont ask me why) I believe the front slab needs some minor patchwork/grinding, but the back is where i start to loose confidence. It seems as though the slab has cracked away from the foundation (or at least thats the pattern the crack follows) and varies in height almost half an inch which i will show you guys in the pictures. Also, the whole front foot of the raised slab has a horizontal crack and is pitched forward like it wants to break off. Ill see if I can get a good picture of it. I was originally thinking clean it up and do a self leveling topper, but with the height difference in some spots on either side of the crack that could get expensive. Im not sure if it makes a difference, but i was planning on doing a tile job with a DITRA underlayment. So now ill leave it to the experts...

Im off tomorrow if you guys need any pictures for reference

Thanks for any input guys
Matt

you need to see why the slab has cracked and moved away that much. It needs to be stabilized no matter what your long term plans are.

There is no way Ditra is going to cover/stop/hide that much of an issue. Until this is stabilized the tile job will need to wait, or it too will move/crack/shift and so on.

The "middle" crack looks like it has been there a while, that one may be able to be cleaned out, and filled with an appropriate product of your choice. Again you need to understand why this failed...I don't see any saw/cuts but that may be the picture.

Others will chime in, I am sure.
