Concrete repair

My friend has a concrete garage floor that has wear from years of normal wear and salt from his vehicles. He wants to epoxy the floor but he wants to refinish the floor wear areas to the original surface height. The wear areas are only about 1/8 to 1/4 inch deep and about 15 to 20 inches in diameter, but he is not sure what to use that will hold up with out cracking or coming apart.

Any suggestions?

If its that hold he'll probably need to grind the whole thing down anyway so he can grind out those areas.
