For some reason they went to the trouble of pouring a highly reinforced 12" thick floor in my shop, but they did a terrible job finishing it. It's also old, used, and abused. The shop is concrete block and the slab was poured inside the blocks after they were laid.
I would really like to have a floor like they do in big warehouse stores - smooth polished concrete with some kind of sealer. What do they use for this?
If I had some pro's come in and pour a new layer of concrete, and give it a glassy smooth finish, how thick would it need to be poured? Obviously it's got a good base, and no cracks.
Does anybody have any idea how much it would cost roughly per sq ft for the finishing work, not counting the concrete? Would it be more expensive than some of the other commercial/industrial type floor coverings that are popular around here?
