I have a shop going up and I am curious about concrete sealers. I know zero about this. Why would a person seal indoor? There is some Sure Klean for sale $10 a gallon. thoughts please

A good concrete sealer/densifier will penetrate deep into the porous structure of the concrete, harden and seal the surface and eliminate dusting from the surface.

There are many brands, but the good stuff pretty much never sells for $10/gallon.
The lowest cost one I know of is sold by Radonseal, and it is about $35/gallon.

look at Euclid Chemical Diamond Hard sealer. I used it on my shop floor and it came out fine. It is the same sealer that is used on the floors at home depot. After it as cured you can't tell that it is eevem applied until you spill water on it.

I think I paid around 75$ for 5 gallons. Look for a distribitor in your area. I called a few places and the prices were majorly different at each location.

The sealer goes on easy. Just pour it on the floor and scrub it around for 10-15 mins. If you step in the sealer as you are applying the sealer your foot prints will show up on the floor. What I ended up using to eliminate this was buy some of the cheap plastic/metal spike shoe covers that use strap to your shoes and walk on your yard to airate the lawn. Its like shoes with spikes on the soles.

If you dont want to buy them and just use your shoes, the foot prints will be there BUT THEY WILL GO AWAY AFTER A FEW WEEKS!

You can also buff the floor out with a buffer and the sealer is suppose to shine. I bought buffing pads but never got around to buffing the floor.

Are any of these sealer products resistant to gasoline and hot tires?

Just for the sake of info in this thread---

Can an epoxy floor coating be applied over a sealer or densifier?

If a densifier is applied, you will need to grind the floor for the epoxy to adhere.
Acid etching won't work.

A sealer would have to be ground off as well.

Epoxy likes to be locked into the substrate, directly.

Put curing sealer on as soon as possible after placing the concrete so it penetrates well. It fills some of the pores and slows curing leaving the concrete stronger. With the sealer it will not dust or chalk as much.
