In addition to rubber/vinyl/PVC tile mentioned in a different thread I'm also considering sealing the garage. Since the topic could expand I thought it best separate them so folks with similar inquiries could have a focused thread instead of potentially two conjoined ones. This is a 1600 sqft, one year old, temp/humidity controlled garage. Concrete is high PSI, smooth troweled. Had a few questions:
1) I'm looking for something that's primarily going to make sweeping/clean-up easier (smooth, but glossy would be a plus). Chemical resistance is nice, but not the focus. Looking for product recommendations with that in mind.
2) For seals/finishes that leave a glossier finish, what is the maintenance for that in higher traffic areas?
3) Can these products be applied in stages without having obvious seams where the applications meet, or do you need to find a way to do it all at once like epoxy?
4) Similar to question 3, when the coating wears, can it be reapplied in high-traffic areas or does the whole floor need to be recoated each time (from both an aesthetic and performance perspective)?
5) Assuming normal car use (parking, not service work), and a wood shop, how often would reapplication be necessary?
6) For newer, higher PSI concrete, how important is using a densifier?
Similar to my other thread, I'd love to hear from folks who did this and have insight, or regrets, for those of us thinking about it. Thanks.
