I want to pour an elevated slab which will measure 4’ x 8’. It will be elevated 6.5’ and attached to the back of my garage which is 6” concrete filled and reenforced with rebar, hollow blocks. I was planing to build two walls four feet out from the garage wall with 6” solid filled hollow blocks. Of course the walls will be eight foot apart and will support the poured concrete slab. This structure needs to support a 2000 liter/528 gallon poly water tank for usage in the house. Underthe slab will house the water pump and filtration system. How thick should the slab be and what size rebar and spacing should be used to support this weight? I do plan to tie the rebar into the garage at all connecting places.
