Concrete treatment under tile

Hey all, I'm getting ready to install some RaceDeck in my garage and will have a mix of solid and drain tile in there to deal with the snow melt here in the Great Northern Plains. I know once upon a time there was a recommendation to use a treatment under the tile - something like TrueLock B4 - but I don't see that product sold on the Garage Floor LLC website anymore. Does anyone have thoughts on if this step is necessary and what the correct product is?

Thanks - here's to an early spring!

Matt

Brand new house, we'll be in 2 years this coming July. Any brand of sealer you like?

I don't remember the name of the sealer i use off hand. I buy it local. I've done a 12,000 sq ft warehouse and a 6,400 sq ft warehouse. Its held up great. I use one that is massaged in with a floor scrubber. Single application.

I don't. Typically these are not photogenic type applications. I am aware that some people will buff the 40 if it is over a smooth floor, but that is not an application we promote.

If you want a protectant with a little shine we suggest TLPPC http://www.garageflooringllc.com/tl...le-interior-exterior-concrete-sealer-coating/ It is an interior/exterior no yellowing penetrating sealer with 14% urethane component. It can be installed in as many layers as you would like to get the desired gloss level. Typically 3. Since it is a penetrating sealer it does not require the maintenance and is very difficult to damage. The urethane though gives it full protection from automotive fluids as well as most chemicals.

Good info. I have additional questions if thats okay.

1) What is best i concrete is new, within the past 45 days?
2) Does this eliminate the opportunity to use other treatments down the road if the tile is removed and someone wants to stain?
3) I was going to seal the concrete before I laid down the tile but would this do the same thing?

I plan on moving around vehicles in my 1,400 square foot garage and could possibly have a rotisserie as well along with a lift.. wanting to make sure I won't be disappointed with the tile when done.

Thanks!

1) What is best i concrete is new, within the past 45 days? TrueLock B4 would be a great option IF you are in fact doing tiles.

2) Does this eliminate the opportunity to use other treatments down the road if the tile is removed and someone wants to stain? Eliminate no, however you would need to grid.

3) I was going to seal the concrete before I laid down the tile but would this do the same thing? It is a type of sealer. THere are other types as well. For under tiles we find this to be the best fit unless you want to go with a high end product that is likely overkill
