Hi all, I have a problem with condensation on my garage floor. I had the door open for a while yesterday and over a 2 hour period, the floor is wet. Today I opened the door again to dry it out and it's wetter than ever. The floor was sealed when I built the detached 24x40,insulated and heated garage. This only happens in the spring. Right now I have the heater running at 75 deg. to hopefully dry it out.

What else can I do to keep the floor dry? Suggestions please! Thanks

Dave

I have the same problem, whenever it is humid, my floor becomes a skating rink. I run a dehumidifier for now, but I want to just put a large AC unit in to combat both the water on the floor and the heat in the shop. The dehumidifier dries the floor pretty well, but it also heats up the shop. That is why I think the AC is a better way to go.

Warm wet air condenses on a cold surface. If the outside air is warm moist and you open the door to warm things up in the shop then the problem you describe shows up. Keep the door shut till the inside temp rises to the outside temp.

Wait till the weather equals out.. I have the samething sometimes when the outside temp hits the inside cold....
Right now EVERYTHING is trying to equalize. It will go away if you have circulation of air...
