Remind me again, up to what size - smaller or larger, can one not color ID the conductor wires

I've always found it silly one can do it on the larger gauge for neutral but not when using smaller wire...

I think it is anything under 4 (or possibly 6), but it also applies to the ground (green) as well.

#4 or larger only for individual conductors. For cable assemblies any size with exceptions like when running a switch loop fed from the light or something along those lines.
