Conduit bender question

Hope you guys don't mind the noobie question, but I was wondering if a bender is rated for one size in EMT/thinwall conduit, does that automatically mean it can do rigid/IMC-type in the the next smaller size down? I've noticed some benders say they work for both (3/4" EMT 1/2" rigid, for example), while others seem to mention just one or the other.

Typically, yes, they do work that way.

agreed, until you get to the 1.25" foot benders, not all are rated for 1" RMC, I have never seen a 3/4 or 1" not rated for smaller ridged.

Be warned the take-ups are less accurate with RMC on an EMT bender.

I've seen both steel and aluminum conduit benders. If I wanted to bend rigid I would consider using a steel one. Probably would take some effort to bend it and I would not trust the aluminum ones to do this.
