Conduit Runs in Pole Barn

I am about to wire up the lighting and outlets in my new barn, but what I cannot find on the site are examples of how conduit is run to the lighting and outlets. The trusses are 8' apart, and I dont think running the conduit perpendicular to the trusses will be good since the pipe will sag. Should the pipe be run on the bottom or side of the truss? Also, the outlets will need to be around the building with a few 220 outlets. Should the pipe go up and over, or just run it directly from outlet to outlet along the main posts parallel to the ground? Any help or examples would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

I like to run 1 inch EMT at the top of the wall with 2 inch deep 4x4 boxs whenever you need drop down a post or out along a truss.
It gives lots of room for multi circuits and connections.

I like to put the drops on the side of the posts so that are not exposed to being bumped into.

Where the run along the tuss goes depends on the type of lights.
If they are plug in I run along the side of the bottom chord with the outlet boxs screwed to the side of the truss.
If they are heavy, hanging fixtures, I run the EMT along the bottom of the truss so I can use at least 2 screws to hold the box to the truss.

emt generally needs to be supported within 3ft of the ends and not more than 10ft at any point between straps. you can do as kbs2244 suggests or you can run on top of the joists and bend a shepards hook into the top of a box that is mounted off center on the joist's bottom. this will allow you to strap to the vertical face of the joist right after the box.
