Couldn't decide whether this should be added to an existing thread or get its own, but anyway...

I am new here and have spent a lot of late nights going through threads, but am still having a hard time nailing down a working shop floor finish for a new floor:headscrat

This will be a brand new auto restoration/race car shop; 2500 square feet with in-floor heat. It will see occasional hard use- grinding, torching, welding, rusty car disassembly, heavy parts, all kinds of fluids, etc. There will be jacks and stands, dropped tools, hot parts.

I built my current shop in 1985, and ran a collision shop there. We built race cars, show cars, demo cars, and really abused the floor- bare concrete with no coating of any kind. It held up just fine, just stained and a chip here and there.

This place will be a retirement shop, so it won't see quite as hard or frequent use; but still will be worked. But I want to keep it nicer than I used to with the old one:)

I ruled out coverings of any kind, like tiles or panels; I'm leaning RaceDeck for my showroom, but that's separate. I don't know if I should go epoxy, or floor paint, or some kind of sealer, or just use it nekkid (the floor, not me).

What do you all think?
