Can a 25 watt fixture in that price range really crank out 4500 lumens?
180 lumens per watt!

I have no idea... seriously overwhelmed at the choice of lights.
I have a 30x48x12
Just trying to find the right 4footer.
Seeing as I will need around 16 I don't really want to spend 100 or more per fixture

Another likely source of confusion for you (and you're not alone) is that there are different ANSI standards (voluntary, BTW) for fluorescent fixtures, ballasts, LED drivers, and measurement of light output across the different technologies. Thankfully, there's plenty of real-world application with this group, as we probably have most every different type of lighting source commercially available amongst all of the members. Keep in mind, as will be stated by others, that your ambient light (via windows, skylights, etc.) will affect your decision, as will the colors of your interior, the finish on the walls, cabinets, etc., and the floor's finish can have a huge/dramatic effect on your choice of lighting and the relative performance.

You can do better.

It's a 50w fixture. Those descriptions are frequently wrong.

If I go fluorescent residential electronic ballist is best right?
If you intend on using a radio, you should strongly consider a residential ballast.

Good luck,
CD

The problem with the internet is it provides so many choices and knowledge that it can make your head spin. I am sure there are better options, and I am sure there are worse options. But buying local with the chance to return if needed is a huge plus for me.

From what little I know frosted lenses are important. After that you just experiment with placement and quantity and go from there.

Thanks a lot guys.
So are you talking frosted bulbs or like a frosted lens cover?
Might try some from Lowes or Home Depot.
I like that they don't draw as many watts.
I just want a flush mount and hard wired

The lights I referenced are a frosted tube and can be flush mounted but they are plug in style and linkable up to four. If you have to have hard wired these would not technically be the light you're looking for.

Assuming these are truly 30 watts, at 120v all 24 lights are only drawing 6amps.

Frosted lens so you don't see the individual LEDs. The fixture you originally linked to is just OK. It happens not to be very efficient at only 90 Lumens per Watt. Here's the mfr spec sheet (link). Your average fluorescent will give you that. I wouldn't touch any LED strip light fixture at less than 120 Lm/W. Note that Lithonia makes the same fixture in a more efficient version (link). Surface mount is correct terminology. Flush = recessed.

I feel like an idiot. Thank you. I looked at the light on the sticky but wanted one with lights in it. But seeing as they are just T8 leds I can get some anywhere and totally missed that the first two links are fixture and one for the bulbs.
And "surface " mounted.

Thanks for the help. Just took me awhile to wrap my head around what's what
