Confusing belt drive garage door opener issue

I had replaced a 15+yr old Liftmaster 3/4 hp chain drive opener that came with the house and was opening a 2 car garage door with a Chamberlain B970 belt drive opener back in Feb 2020 (and moved the liftmaster to the single car 3rd car garage door). B970 worked well till this past summer (August) when we had lightning strike our house and took out bunch of electronics (TVs, computer monitors, routers home theater receiver, etc. etc.) including the B970 (logic board and motion sensors) and the GFCIs in the garage (plus elsewhere in the house). Bought another B970 locally to replace the one taken out by lightning. Unfortunately, the "new" B970 recently started displaying a error code 1-5 [chamberlaingroup.com] with only one click (no hum). I am not an expert and had just replaced / installed the B970s very closely following Chamberlain's instructions and Youtube videos.

Wondering whether I may have missed steps (or incorrectly installed something) that might be causing the motor to overheat (one of the possibilities mentioned on Chamberlain's support page above). I had followed the instructions in the manual and ensured the "spring nut" was 1-1/4" (which per the manual seems to be an important step to ensure correct tension in the belt) but its possible I could have inadvertently overlooked something while scrambling to assess all the damage from the lightning strike.

I should also mention that unplugging the Garage door opener (as well as built-in battery that comes with the B970) overnight seems to resolve the issue - which further makes me lean towards the possibility of overheating motor versus the other possibilities for this error code.

Some other thoughts wondering why the opener (and wall unit) might be displaying the error code 1-5:
1. The Garage GFCIs have not been replaced yet - the local electricians seem quite busy with the "big builders/jobs" and have not stopped by to replace the 15+ yrs old GFCI that were blown in the lightning (including rhw GFCIs in garage) . With the blown GFCIs on the garage circuit, could there be surges in the Garage circuit - for example from the freezer in the garage - that could be causing issues with the Garage door opener/motor?
2. I have been regularly lubricating the rollers, hinges, etc. every 2-3 yrs till now and the torsion spring is also relatively new (replaced by local professional in 2018). But wondering if some of these components could be worn and hence causing more stress on the motor. Not sure how many years these components typically list but just wondering if there might some things I could check on these components to see if they might be worn?
3. Do the torsion springs need to be wound differently for belt drive garage door openers versus chain drive openers? My understanding is the torsion spring is wound dependent on the weight of the garage door and not the type of garage door opener but again I am no expert on this.

Would appreciate any input for anyone reading this that might help further diagnose the issue.

Thanks much for any feedback and guidance,
-Topper

Is your Garage Door Opener still under warranty, I ask this because I bought openers with Life Time Warranties, have them send out their service tech.
