Great video and philosophy on cars and garages!!! Reminds me of local drag racing back in the 60's, throw the slicks and the tools in the trunk and drive to the strip.

Cheers
Steve

Thank you very much, guys. I think the team at Petrolicious did a great job of making a cool-looking video and also of trimming down my hours of meandering chatter into something that's pretty coherent and (I hope) not too boring. And I won't lie, it's a blast to see my own car going through turn 4 at Willow Springs. I'm always inside the car, so I never get to see it.

Jack Olsen is one of the hardest working tireless persons I have even known. I don't know how he has time for the forums. I don't think he sleeps much. Anyway, if any wish to have the accomplishments accredited to JO, you'll need about 18 hours a day, 7 days a week.

So, he has earned that video.

And I won't lie, it's a blast to see my own car going through turn 4 at Willow Springs. I'm always inside the car, so I never get to see it.
Well, if my arm wasn't about to fall off, I'd be happy to pilot the 911 around while you watch. :)

Wow, that was a really cool video

Like others have said, it's great to hear Jack's voice & hear him speak of his hobby, "in person" & to put a voice to all those typed words

The video is new to me. As far as I'm concerned it's a must watch. I'm a little skeptical of Mr. Olsen's claim that his words of wisdom are merely the result of judicious editing by the filmmakers. I think one of the appealing aspects of what Jack has done with the garage and with the car is that it represents/encapsulates the DIY ethic. The garage is living proof that a dedicated average joe who is willing to do his homework and spend the time can pretty much have it all in the suburban two car garage.

I still remember the first time I saw a picture of the garage I instantly thought, "Man, that is the garage." That was way before it had evolved into it's current form. My opinion has not changed since then.

Thanks again, guys.

I don't want to dwell on this nonsense too much, but Road & Track's website just called my car "ferociously beautiful."

So, you know, how many days do you get where that happens? :)

One man, so many trades. Great, RESPECT Mr.Olsen....the way you think is the right way : "YES, you can.....just do it...."

I guess your creativity and ambition got you where you are right now, and you deserve it.

Good job !!!

Congratulations Jack. Not only are the car scenes fantastic, your comments do us all proud. You managed to elevate the car and the garage to a level we all feel but few can articulate. You really ought to consider a career in acting or writing.........

Hey! congratulations Jack - great stuff.

As if all that is not professional enough - how about a link to that other professional side of your good self - the fiction writing? .... :)

He's already glommed onto that writing thing. Jack helps to feed the Hollywood beast. TV, movies, etc. Probably one of the reasons he can string together a coherent sentence a tad better than us average Joes.

Two enthusiastic thumbs up!! It's cool insight to see Jack's garage and 911 "living and breathing".

Great stuff... As a guy who is finally building his dream garage this is a story I can relate to. So far I have the garage built, but I need to finish the interior and get a fun car to put in it.

My turbo charged Dodge Raider is fun but not a good vehicle to take to a track that has any sort of corners.

Good job!

Congrats Jack...you're now the Clint Eastwood of the garage journal forum. Nice piece of video. Also, your modesty throughout all this change and modification of your car and your garage and the resulting fame should be a model for all of us. Thanks for who you are and for sharing your life, family, accomplishments and ambitions with us....I'm proud to say I encountered you 3 years ago! You've encouraged me through some really tough times unbeknownst to you. :rocker:
