Connecting 1/2" Copper Air line to coupler?

First off, would like to say hello to everyone as this is my first post...I did enough google searches in the past and many times, links to answers pointed me here!! So thought today was a good time to create an account:D I am asking a question today, but hope to give some knowledge back in the future.

SO on to the question:
The subject title pretty much sums it up.I plan on using 1/2" Type L copper tubing (3/4" is just too damn expensive...$10 more for each 10ft section). Pretty sure it doesn't matter but the run totals between 50-60ft.

I was just wondering how would you connect the coupler to the 1/2" cooper pipe...I did buy some parts today (please see pic) and it seems like it works, but is there any mystery threaded piece of copper THAT can connect directly to the coupler.

Is what I have pictured the typical way to run it?

Just trying to cut down on costs...that little chunk of brass between the copper and coupler was $3.50!! Not trying to sound like a cheapskate; hell if it was just a couple...no problem, but plan on doing around 6 drops and things add up.

BTW not hell bent on using the male coupler/quick disconnect..if female is better please let me know.

Thank you guys in advance in any help you can give

Doing the same thing myself and plan on using the sweat to npt adapter straight to a female quick disconnect.

Ask for a 1/2" c sweat x 1/4" ips female adapter.
You will be able to thread the male end of the coupling directly into fitting without the reducer coupling.
Or you can get a 1/2" c sweat x 1/4" ips male to connect to a 1/4" female coupler.

Yes the supply house would be your best bet on parts.
I think you could have got 1/2" ips air line couplings as well instead of the 1/4" then you would`nt have to reduce.

I use female 1/2" sweat to 1/2" IPS copper fittings & a 1/2" X 1/4" reducing bushing. Copper & brass fittings at HD are real pricey, if you have a good supply house that is where to go.

Once again, thank you for the help. I got all the goodies today, ended up getting 1/2" copper female sweat x 3/8" male threaded (or was it 1/4" male..?...it fits though)....connected directly to female air coupler.

HOLY SH*T though, each one of those copper pieces cost $4.50!!! I told the guy I didn't know they started making them out of gold lol.

I'll tell ya guys that run 3/4" copper airlines must be into their system for more then half a grand...copper is pricey
