The connection needs to be made about 8 or 10 feet from the end of the drain line where it goes underground to the septic tank. I think I just need a saddle and put a 1 inch vertical pipe with a trap in it and then connect the humidifier drain hose into that. Or just form a loop in the hose to act as a trap. Am I missing anything?

Generally, the humidifier drains are directed toward the floor drain with an air gap just like the condensate from the air conditioner.

Thanks, but this is in a crawlspace — there’s no floor drain.
Is this valve something to get at a plumbing supply house? What is it called?
I only have a few feet to work in and no way to vent outside but with a studer vent In the crawl space.
Studor vent will work fine, you just need to get air in the line so it drains.
Make sure to also get good slope on the drain run. 0.25" per foot as usual. Often challenging if your condensate line and soil line are both at basement floor level. If so you would need to add a condensate pump, and they are annoying because they fail every 5 years no matter what brand I seem to install.

The unit has a pump or it can gravity drain. The line I want to tap is right beside and lower the dehumidifier. Maybe I can get the gravity drain to do this.

So, the unanswered question how is the condensate water from the AC unit is drained?
Consider draining this water somewhere other than the sanitary system if possible.
An improper connection between your HVAC and sanitary system is a bad idea and unhealthy.
If the sanitary system is your best option do it in a fully code compliant way the has a correctly venter trap and full air gap.
