Greetings, I’m attempting to construct some (non-load bearing) walls going from the floor to a ceiling skinned with steel paneling similar to Menards Prorib, the wall will run perpendicular to the ribs, and I’m looking for some opinions & options for trim to mate up to the paneling, & so far, have yet to find anything available commercially. I figure theres got to be an easier way than cutting/routing wood trim to match the profile, any other ideas? Thanks in advance!

Foam closure strips-normally used to seal the panel at the eaves to prevent critter infiltration-they are profiled to match the panel you are using- install them between the top of the wall and the ceiling panel. Menards should sell them, they usually come in 3' lengths and have an interlocking edge detail to keep them in place.

My walls and ceiling are white steel panels, and we used what they called a "double J" trim. The trim piece was screwed into place, then the panels slid into the channel. The reason for double was to place both the ceiling and walls. I don't know if you could use a single J channel screwed in place tight against your ceiling and slip the wall panels into that? Not sure if you are going with or across the ribs, that would obviously make a big difference!
Don't know if that helps, but that's what I did.
Good Luck!

Sorry, Just re-read it and saw you are perpendicular to panels, sorry! I have been no help whatsoever!

I helped a friend do this last year. His was like yours with the wall perpendicular to the ceiling ribs which put the walls parallel to the truss. We first cut 1x 4's with a angle each end to fit between the ribs. Then we ran 2 x 4's between the trusses up above the metal to mount the 1 x 4's too. Then we built the wall and screwed the top plate through the 1 x 4's and into the 2 x 4's. We covered the new walls with metal too themn just ran a J channel up at the ceiling to trim and it look good.

There are both inside and outside closure strips available to suit your needs.

Thank you all for your input! I'd been looking for something similar to the foam closure strips, but Google wasnt sympathetic to my lack of proper terminology! :lol_hitti
