We just layed concrete in our 45x30. We want something only to keep water from attacking a couple vintage cars of ours, nothing that looks like a showroom. Just something to be used. Now my question, would foundation sealer at all or would it just chip very quickly? Looking to do it pretty cheap, but doesnt have to be dirt cheap.

Thanks,
Trevor

Let it cure for a minimum of 28 before you do anything. You have me confused with the water attacking your vintage cars though. A sealer will just fill the pores of concrete and water will stand on the slab. Are you looking for something to try and prevent the floor from staining?

Yes, not worried about standing water, but moisture coming up through the concrete during the winter. Would foundation sealer help with that at all?

I would think a french drain would be your best bet for keeping water from leaching in.
Is you floor above or below grade?

If a vapor barrier was put down before the concrete was poured, you shouldn't have much, if any problem.

If not, I have found that sealing the surface only delays the condensation.(winter issue usually)

If no barrier was put down, you can get large mats that should do basically the same thing.
