Consensus fan quit working

I went to the shop today and turned the heat pump system on. Then noticed the fan wasn't turning so I turned it off. Then I turned it back on and it ran fine for about 30 minutes until I heard a loud chooo! sound and noticed the fan quit working again. What doez that mean? Is that the refrigerant releasing from a over pressurized system?

Yeah but isn't the sound of air escaping the Freon bleeding off cause the fan isn't working? The system was installed 2 months ago. How could the fan go bad?

Will that cause into quit working while it's running? I thought copacitors were just their to give it an extra boost for starting

Did the frost on the outdoor unit melt off when the fan was running? You may have just seen it go through a defrost cycle.

Oh maybe that's what it was. Do they start off in defrost mode at.times though? I didn't know. It didnt do it yesterday and it was the same temp outside.

It did it again and the fan restarted after about a minute. I guess it was just defrosting. I didnt know that's what it did.

I wonder why it did it as soon as I turned it on. It's not like it was frozen at 40 degrees and not running. Maybe when it's cool enough outside it just does an automatic check to see where things stand?
